About the course

This course, designed for pre-school, primary, and secondary school teachers, provides essential training on environmental awareness, environmental management, and sustainable development education. Participants will learn how to inspire and empower their students to take active roles in raising environmental awareness within their families, communities, and schools. By promoting participatory approaches, teachers will equip students with skills and attitudes to become leaders for a greener and more sustainable future.

Course Content

This course equips teachers with the knowledge and tools to transform their schools into eco-friendly learning environments. By engaging students in hands-on, participatory approaches, educators will cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious leaders committed to sustainable development.

Morning (3 hours):

  • Icebreaker: “Why Green Matters” – Sharing thoughts on environmental sustainability.
  • Session 1: Understanding Eco-Schools – Goals, values, and best practices.
  • Session 2: Environmental Awareness – Discussing the importance of environmental education and sustainability.

Afternoon (3 hours):

  • Workshop: Identifying Environmental Issues in Your School – Analyzing local challenges and opportunities.

    • Group Activity: Brainstorming student-led solutions for environmental concerns.

Morning (3 hours):

  • Icebreaker: “Recyclable or Not?” – A quick activity to classify waste materials.
  • Session 1: The Recycling System – Steps, benefits, and challenges.
  • Session 2: Creating a Green Plan – Mapping out recycling initiatives in schools.

Afternoon (3 hours):

  • Workshop: Designing Recycling Stations for Your School – Hands-on planning and designing.

    • Interactive Activity: Relating Garbage and Recyclable Materials – Practical exercises to identify waste categories.
