About the course
This 5-day Erasmus+ KA1 course is designed to equip teachers with the tools and methodologies necessary to foster critical and creative thinking in their students. The course focuses on integrating thinking processes and skills into teaching programs to prepare students for real-world problem-solving and decision-making. Participants will explore and practice various thinking frameworks, creativity tools, and systematic approaches to innovation, helping them create interactive and engaging learning environments.
What will you learn?
By the end of this course, participants will:
Understand and apply core thinking skills, including critical, creative, and systematic thinking.
Integrate innovative thinking methodologies such as brainstorming, 6 Thinking Hats, TRIZ, and SCAMPER into their teaching practices.
Develop strategies to foster a positive and interactive thinking climate in the classroom.
Course Content
This course empowers teachers with practical tools and methodologies to enhance their students’ thinking capabilities. By integrating critical and creative thinking skills into their teaching programs, participants will foster a culture of innovation and problem-solving that prepares students for success in a rapidly changing world.
Morning (3 hours):
- Welcome and Icebreaker: Exploring Creativity – Interactive group activity to introduce creative thinking.
- Session 1: Understanding Creativity – The role of creativity in education and tackling global challenges.
- Session 2: Levels of Creativity – Exploring lower and higher-level creativity.
Afternoon (2 hours):
- Workshop: Applying Creativity – Activities and discussions to provoke creative thoughts.
• Group Reflection: How creativity impacts teaching and learning.
Morning (3 hours):
- Session 1: Introduction to Brainstorming – Theories and importance of brainstorming in problem-solving.
- Session 2: Types of Brainstorming – Exploring individual, group, and reverse brainstorming techniques.
Afternoon (2 hours):
- Workshop: Hands-On Brainstorming – Applying brainstorming techniques in group activities.
• Case Study: Evaluating the effectiveness of brainstorming in real-life scenarios.
Morning (3 hours):
- Session 1: Morphological Analysis – Understanding principles and applications in various fields.
- Activity: Developing systematic approaches to idea generation using Morphological Analysis.
Afternoon (2 hours):
- Session 2: 6 Thinking Hats – Introduction and principles of Edward de Bono’s thinking tool.
• Workshop: Role-Playing with 6 Hats – Applying the tool in professional and personal scenarios.
Morning (3 hours):
- Session 1: Introduction to TRIZ – History, principles, and importance of TRIZ in problem-solving.
- Session 2: TRIZ Contradiction Matrix – Understanding its application in resolving challenges.
Afternoon (2 hours):
- Workshop: Applying TRIZ – Solving problems using TRIZ tools in individual and group settings.
• Reflection: TRIZ vs. traditional problem-solving methods.
Morning (3 hours):
- Session 1: Introduction to SCAMPER – Overview and importance in idea generation and innovation.
- Session 2: Applying SCAMPER – Exploring examples and practicing unusual applications of the technique.
Afternoon (2 hours):
- Workshop: Developing a Creative Project – Participants apply SCAMPER to improve or innovate an existing product, service, or situation.
- Final Reflection: Integrating Thinking Skills into Teaching Programs – Participants share actionable plans for their classrooms.
• Certificate Distribution and Closing Ceremony.
